The doctor in charge had arranged for more detailed checks at Singapore National Eye Centre on 31st Jan after poor results of his vision test at NUH. Dr sent us an email yesterday and the results were good. The plastic surgeon also followed w a phone call to inform us of the good news. Thus, there will no urgency for Brayden to go thru the surgery at the moment. I will be able to go bk to work as planned n Brayden will be going to Infant care. We will just go for the follow ups next week.

Brayden first day at Infant Care

Yesterday was Brayden's 1st day at Infant Care Centre. Hubby was not working yesterday so we sent Brayden to Infant care together. We left him there for a few hours and we went shopping ourselves. However, the shopping was mainly for Brayden's stuff and Robinsons happened to have 20% discount for most of the items. woohoo..

Today, Brayden went for the ERG and VEP test at Singapore National Eye Centre. Due to the poor results at NUH, Dr Inez Wong had referred baby to SNEC for detailed checks. We will need to wait for Dr Wong to advise further.

After the test, I brought Brayden to QA to bai nian.

Time flies. Brayden is 115 days old. Tomorrow is 1st Feb and he will be starting at the Kinderland Infant care centre at MND. He will require more stuff at Kinderland and we also bought a label printer to print his name so that the teachers will not mix up Brayden's stuff with other infants. As I am starting work on next Tuesday, will bring him to Kinderland for a few hours tomorrow. Moreover, Vernon is not working tomorrow and we can go to Kinderland together. Yeah...

CNY 2011

It's Brayden first CNY. Luckily, Brayden does not have to go through the operation these few days and he is able to celebrate CNY with us. It was a sunny morning yesterday. We went to my parents place to 拜年first.

After that, we went to popo house. It has been so long since all of us happened to be at popo house at the same time. Luckily, we arranged w each other on CNY eve. Glad to know that Edward is getting married in March n Pearlyn is getting married next year. This year, popo has 3 great grandchildren to celebrate CNY w her. Hope there will be more in the next few years. At popo house, 财神爷decides to give us some wealth by raining heavily. Fortunately, it was a short rain pour. We went to toa payoh central Macdonald for lunch.

We went to Vernon's grandma house at jurong east for visiting. This year, no steamboat. Had curry chicken, mixed vege, stewed pork n soup for dinner. Last place of the day will be Vernon's grandma house at Punggol for visiting. Everyone is looking forward to Brayden to see him and his CNY outfit. Haha.

It was a tiring day but really great to have a bb with us to celebrate CNY. Brayden, thanks for coming to this family. Mummy n daddy loves you.

Inspired by Karen's video on her twins. I decided to blog on my precious Brayden.

I have so much to blog on this week happenings.

On 09 Jan 12,

Brayden went for eye check up with Dr Inez Wong. Dr Wong used toys to check Brayden's response on his eyesight. However, he was not responding to the toys that they used. Dr Inez Wong arranged for another VEP testing on 12 Jan 12.

On 12 Jan 12,
Brayden went for the VEP testing. After the VEP testing, I brought Brayden to visit popo. It was my first time with BB, a pram and a big backpack. Previously, I only brought bb out using the Baba wrap without the pram. Moreover, I took the train from Kent Ridge to Holland Village. Yeah, I succeeded in carrying bb, big bag and a pram. I was delighted to find Old Chang Kee at Holland V MRT station. I managed to buy popo favourite fried chicken wings for her.

After that, we went to Suntec to meet my hubby. At

Suntec, I liked this at first sight and bought this for Brayden. This costs me $36!!! So ex but I like it.

On 13 Jan 12,

Dr Inez Wong sent us an email on the results of the VEP test. Here is an extract of the email.

It seems that the responses are still reduced and more worryingly, the responses from the right eye has deteriorated.

My heart sank after reading her email. I informed a few people on this. Lao da, Lao er called me and I cried during the conversation. I called Dr Wong to find out about BB's condition. After hearing Dr Wong's explanation, I felt much better. Sally Jie offered to send me and bb to NUH for follow up on Monday. As I already asked Jennifer to go with me, I rejected Sally Jie's offer. In the afternoon, we went to Bugis temple to pray for Brayden's good health.

In the evening, we went to Nex for father in law's birthday celebration.

This was the first time we went to the market & NTUC together with bb for breakfast and grocery shopping.

On 15 Jan 12,

We arranged with Vernon's aunties to go to Ngee Ann City to see the World largest Jade Buddha.

Today marks the 7th year annivesary of our union. We have been together for 7 years liao. Time really flies lei. Actually, we applied leave for today. Unfortunately, my hubby was asked to go back today. I also went back to work lor.

We went to Sketches for Dinner. That hubby of mine so "greedy". Ordered 2 main course liao and still want to order one pizza. He said he was hungry. In the end, we still unable to finish that pizza and packed the balance home. haha

On Friday, Eunice Puay was asking me why I have not been blogging. Today is the one month celebration of baby Faith of Ivy and James. Of coz, we travelled to Jurong to visit baby Faith. Just feel like visiting my blogs as I had not posted on the blog for quite some time. Gosh, the last post was in Mar 07. I have not blog here for the past 9 months. haha.. I have been busy on multiply and facebook. Facebook is a new thing that I am crazy over now.

This year has been an exciting year for me. I was busy preparing for wedding in the 1st qtr of the year. In the 2nd qtr, was busy with the FY closing and new challenges in the prev job. As for 3rd qtr, was busy with my new job and honeymoon. And now, the last qtr of the year, am still learning the new job scopes, busy buying xmas presents and of coz shopping. haha..

Maybe, I shd talk a bit about my new year resolutions. The 1st thing on my list is to cut down on my spending, learn more recipes, exercise more and go for 2 holidays. haha.. What am I talking about? On one hand, I want to cut down on spending, on the other side, I want to go for 2 holidays.

As the date gets nearer, we start to furnish our house with more furniture to make it more complete. Some had arrived yesterday. We are just short of one more coffee table in the living room.

The sofa which were delivered earlier on that were ordered fm Sea Horse. The right one is a sofa bed. But we left them in the study room. We can watch TV here and do discussions here while I am surfing net online.

Last saturday, we went to do some final purchase for our house. The most important furniture of the master bedroom. haha.. The mattress. We actually placed a deposit for the mattress some time back and went to confirm the date of delivery. We also bought one coffee table and one bedside table when we went to confirm the delivery date. Once these furniture all in, the house is more or less complete liao. Once completed, I will upload more pics. However, the house will look so cramp with the furniture. He was telling me that he regretted buying this small house after visiting a friend's house last sat evening. Their house is so much bigger than us. haiz...

Updates on the wedding day preparation

There are so many things to be done and have yet done. Haiz.. Getting more stressed. Moreover, there is also the CNY next month when everyone is so busy.
Bridal Car & Jie Mei cars
Mr Chew had called to counter offer his Mercs at $300.00. He will leave once we reached hotel. If want to book the Mercs for the whole day, it will cost $380.00. London cab also cost almost $400 plus plus. Was chatting with the Nk group the other day, so many of them had kindly offered their help to me. Of coz, some from Joy Gathering had also offered their help to us months ago. I am so touched by their gesture. Sometimes, is it we really have no idea or we are just too busy to sit down to discuss and let them know. Haiz... Anyway, will let all of you know asap. Thanks to Judy who had given me so many tips that day too. Hopefully, Sharon has good news for me. hehe... Other than bridal car, still got Jie Mei cars to fan.

For Jie Mei, more or less, I had confirmed liao. Its only Xiong Di that we are worrying about. Its a tough decision. Hopefully, we can have the come to a conclusion soon.

23rd December

While some people are still busy doing last minute shopping for X'mas, we spend almost the whole day to do the 2nd round of viewing and selecting the photos. Had lunch at Amoy street before going to Milan to do the selection. Too bad, my favourite stall is not opened. Ended up eating wanton mee. Haiz...

This round, I asked father along to see the photos. He got a shock when he saw the whole pile of photos. :P I know he's not really good at commenting but just would like to share with him all the photos we had taken since we will not have a chance to get all the photos. By the time we finished selecting the photos, planned the layout, the most important thing-Bargaining and confirm everything, its almost 8.30 already. So scary-we spent almost 6 hours at the shop. haha....

I think this is quite usual for most couples, we also blew our budget almost 2 times. sob sob.... Both of us really like the photos... We also scheduled the next visit on 28 Jan 2007 to view the layout and choose the gowns for our actual day. We will get our 3 albums and 2 photo frames in early March due to CNY in mid Feb. From the discussion & delay, think they really send the photos to Taiwan to process. It looks like it is really cheaper to process these photos over there. My current boss told me he went to take all these in Taiwan which only cost him about SGD1300++.

The lady who served us is also from Taiwan. Hb asked her more about Taiwan as we planned to go Taiwan for Hm. But the food do not seem to appeal to him as they serve mostly pork there. haha...

It was still raining heavily when I left office last night. Heavy traffic jam due to the rain. Far East Flora which is opp my office was flooded till an adult waist level. Thanks to the bus lane during peak hours, managed to reach Maxwell market around 7pm. Met hb and ILs for chicken rice before proceeding to BS to choose our photos. we short listed about 106 photos from the 1st selection. By the time we finished the 1st round of selection, we were very tired liao. Fearing that we will get "brain washed" by them easily when we were tired, we decided to go down on this Saturday to do the 2nd round of selection. We really hope to keep to our budget.

Christmas Shopping

Yes, the photos are out!!! They are ready for selection since last Friday. We will be going down to choose them today as we were tied up with lots of stuff during the weekend. Ver and I are keeping our fingers crossed. Hopefully, the photos turned out well. But on the other hand, we do not wish to burst our budget. If there are too many good ones, then we will have headache. Haiz..That's the reality of life. Human beings are never satisfied. They want more. Hhmm... Going to choose photos meaning I have a chance to go Maxwell Road for the chicken rice or the fish soup? haha...

Friday-15th.

Went dinner with colleague at current place. Met some who were ex-staff here as well. They are really a nice bunch of people to mix well. Among the 8 of us, only 2 of us are existing staff lei. Sound a bit weird, right? haha.. Then hubby came to meet me after his squash game and we shopped till 12.30am at PS. I bought 2 pair of shoes & 1 bag from URS with 20% discount. 3 T shirts from World of sports with 50% discount. He only bought one T-shirt. Waited for the midnight shopping till 1.30am and reached home at 2am. Sound so scary hor... haha... Too bad, we did not win anything. I was not eyeing the big prize of 42" LCD TV but the 3rd prize of home theatre system. How can we do not have the luck? Haiz..

Saturday-16th

Went to collect our laptop at Penjuru Lane that came with the Maxonline. Paid a bit extra for the warranty. The place is super ulu. Luckily, my dad offered to send us there to collect the laptop. It was a super hot morning lor. Can see few people waiting for cab at the entrance, road junction. Think they have to call cabs lor. I do not think that super ulu industrial place will have cabs pass by lor. Yeah.. No need to "fight" over the usage of of PC with him liao. He can works and I can msn online. :P Then we went to Clementi Central-market for lunch. Packed the bbq chicken with rice and rojak for my dad to bring home to mummy. Heehee.... We also went to make the balance payment of $800 for the curtains. They are coming to install the curtains this Saturday morning. Yeah.. One thing down on the list for the house. Still got bookshelf, sofa and mattress... After that, went to Silra Home. They started earlier at around 11.30am and I was late lor becoz of the things that have to be done. Still managed to help out a bit. After their dinner buffet sponsored by one physician, went up to the room to do spring cleaning. We shifted there for only one year, cannot understand why the activity room is messy also. hehe.. With a tired and aching body, we decided to give the midnight shopping at J8 & Suntec a miss. So I proceeded back to my parents house for dinner.

Sunday-17th

Super sianz weather again. Rain and rain.... Supposed to go out breakfast with my family but becoz of the rain, my parents decided not to go out with us. Went to Orchard for shopping. As I still have some Taka vouchers, I thought I can use them for buying xmas presents. In the end, I bought 2 things at toy fair at Taka for myself. hahaa... Winnie Pooh water dispenser and Winnie Pooh toy that come with a remote control that can record voice also. haha... Childish act of me again. :P I also saw one wedding quilt cover set at Kalms. Wow... $150 bucks lei!!! Gosh.. Its so ex. I like the red one but he prefers the white one. I still think that is too ex to buy. Hopefully, I will change my mind to buy that quilt cover for the new mattress for wedding. Walked further down to Robinsons and super heavy rain just came. Sat down at TCC to enjoy a cup of coffee and a pc of Orea cheesecake. A bit too luxury in terms of cost for me, I think. He bought 3/4 pants at Robinsons with 20% discount. He bought another 2 pairs of running shoes, 1 sports bag, 1 shoes bag and 2 polo tess from Fila. Aiyoyo.. Hands full liao. Walked down to PS with those shopping bags to drop those lucky draw coupons from Friday ones. We seldom able to get a cab at PS. Official taxi queue at PS was long and the unofficial taxi queue outside PS was also super long. We decided not to join the queue despite the big bags of shopping bags. While waiting for the bus,, I just tried my luck to hail cab and the cab indeed stopped. Hubby said I was so lucky. hehe.. Maybe, the cab driver thought we lived at Sengkang or Punggol where he can earn more $$. Think he's a bit pissed off when we told him our place. haha.. Who cares?

Monday-18th

I have been sick since last Monday. Was on MC last Tuesday liao. When the stupid medicine got rid of the flu virus, the throat virus came. With the hectic shopping during the last weekend, I fell sick. Haiz.. Woke up feeling tired so I have no choice to call office for mc. Did some housework at the same time. Went to see doctor and get mc. It was so ex. $32 lei. aiyoyo.. Think next time, I go back to my parents's house gp. Last week, only $22 lei with antibiotics, this round dun have lei. Aiyo.. rain AGAIN. sianz..

Photo Shooting Session

We were so excited about today photo shooting session. Were very busy the whole weekend juz becoz of today session. haha..

Saturday morning and afternoon were my housework day. After going for a swim (last min exercise? :P), cooked lunch-Curry Chicken (poohplayroom.blogspot.com). By the time, I finished all the housework, it was almost 5. Decided to do the housework on sat instead of Sun. Thinking of resting on Sunday to look good on Monday. hehe....

We tried to buy the gun that blow bubbles on Saturday but we failed to get it at PS. We thought it will be available at the toys department at Carrefour. However, we managed to buy the seashells and the champagne at Daiso. I wanted a diamond ring for the photo shooting session also. Anyway, he promised this as a gift for our wedding anniversary. But did not see anyone that I like and within our budget. Sobz..

Went to Toys r us to buy the gun for the bubbles blowing. So many types to choose from. haha.. Anyway, bought one. So happy that I got all the logistics for the photos shooting session. Yeah... Happened to pass by the convention centre and saw there is an exhibition over there. We also signed up for a SPA package on the spot. $599 for 2 people for 15 sessions. Each person is about $20 per session for 3 hours. Quite a good deal lah. This is a good time as we will be busy with work, festive celebrations, wedding preparations and our house furniture shopping. We can pamper ourselves with a good break at times. Most importantly, to look good on wedding date. Do not wish to look tired on wedding day also. Getting more excited now. hehe..

Sunday was my final gown fitting day. The person in charge reminded me not to drink so much water last night so that our eyes will not look so swollen this morning. RM had also reminded me on Saturday. Think this is really a very important thing to take note.

Last thing that I did on Sunday was the manicure and pedicure session. The girl who served me is young. Her colleague was on leave that day so she is the only one in the shop. Nice gal to talk to so I had an enjoyable manicure session. I was late for appt for 30 mins. In the end, she only closed the shop at 7.50 instead of the usual 7pm.

Woke up super early this morning. Even earlier than my working days. Well, we have to reach the BS by 8am, still have to go to TP market to buy flowers. The florist that I previously bought the roses is still close. Went to another florist. He did not have any nice sunflowers. (the 1st hipcup of the day). He said there will be new stocks coming in later around 11. We bought a dozen of roses and 2 lilies for the indoor shooting 1st. When we want to go out later, then made a U turn back lor.

We chose Sentosa and Cavenagh Bridge for our outdoor photo shooting. When we finished one evening gown indoor, we decided to go out to Sentosa as I am really scared that it will rain later in the afternoon. Had been observing the "trend" of the weather these few weeks. Yes, off we go!! yaya.. Still got my sunflowers, went to the market and the new sunflowers also not big and nice. (2nd hipcup) Photographer helped us to choose another 3 more lilies. When we reached Sentosa, it was really very hot. We were basically sweating all the way at the 1st 2 parts of Sentosa. When we wanted to use the gun for the bubbles blowing, then realised that we need a screwdriver to open the cover and install batteries. (3rd hipcup) When we reached the tree, it was much better. Just when we about to leave the tree, there was a technician repairing the street light. hehe.. Managed to borrow the screwdriver from him. hehe.. Photographer noticed the change in weather and requested us to move to the beach soon. Unfortunately, it started to rain when we only took a 3 pictures after reaching the Sentosa Beach. I am really a bit sad that we only managed to take a few pictures at the Beach. (4th hipcup)

Thought I ca go back to Studio for lunch liao. They continued the indoor shooting for the kua. Hubby looked so cute in that Chinese suit. I complained I was hungry liao. hehe.. It was already 2 plus lei. hehe... Continued with the next traditional wedding gown. This is the piece that both of us like most. Think I will choose a lot for this suit. hehe.. I changed into another evening gown for the outdoor shooting at Cavenagh Bridge. When the rain became smaller, the photographer quickly called the driver to pick us up. The driver had just changed his car and we are his new customers. The car that we had sat earlier this morning had been traded in for the new car. Wow.. he bought this Mercs for $180K, same price as my flat lei..... Luckily, the photgrapher is quite nice to bring us out for the outdoor photo shooting despite the rain as I told her I really wanted to take photos here as this is the place where he proposes. :P

Of course, not forgetting to take some photos at the lobby in the evning gown. Set up the logistics that we had brought along. Like seashells, candles, candles holders, champagne glasses and the roses. Romantic set up hor?

Finally, ended up everything around 7.30. Yeah.... Can rest liao..... Went to Maxwell market for my chicken rice. Finally, can eat what I like after controlling. keke...

Many frens have been asking me this question. Finally, I can post the answer here. hehe.. 27th November 06. I really like Rimei & Edmund photos. Very well taken by Ah Yap.Hopefully, ours will turn out as good as them. Supposed to take the photos before I come over to MCYS as I afraid that I may not have the chance to apply leave here. However, due to the stupid fire and the haze, the photo taking sessions have been postponed one time after one time. These few days, the haze seemed to have disappeared. But the raining season is here. I guess we do not have a choice. Its already late November. I afraid that we may not find enough time in December to take. Many people will be clearing their leave during year end. It will be even tougher to apply leave then.

Was chatting with RM last night, she taught me things to get ready for the wedding. The 1st thing is to get ready the guest list. Wow.. stressed lei!! Hubby so busy with his work this month, where to find time to sit down to discuss the guest list.

Went to Tanjong pagar market after work. Passed by a florist and bought some flowers for the dining table. This is the 1st time that I bought flowers for the house. Lousy arrangement, right? haha..

With the subject, more or less you will know what am I going to post today, right? hehe...

Went to Cineleisure last week, we saw all these machines selling capsules that contains small toys, keychains, handphone accessories and etc. There are 20 over of them with a few that have winnie pooh sets. There is one particluar one which contains Hello Kitty kitchen stuff minatures such as plates, bowls and etc. It cost $3 per capsule for the Hello Kitty series. Though I like the kitchen minatures, I still stick to the winnie pooh ones. Moreover, they are slighty cheaper than Hello kitty. Rest of all these cost $1 per capsule. But out of those winnie pooh machines, there are 2 which caught my eyes.

This is the 1st one. I was very lucky to get the winnie pooh last week.

Beside this machine, there is this machine which sell the winnie pooh sitting with the piglet. I got the mickey mouse and the winnie pooh. They are not one set. Must get the Minnie mouse to match the micket mouse and the piglet to match the winnie pooh.

Last night, we bought movie tickets for 11.25 and it was only 10.30. So I thought why not walk down to Cineleisure and try my luck and those capsules machines again. I really would like to have the winnie pooh and piglet set. Went to the PS arcade to change to $1 coins with my $10 note. So you know how much I spent last night on all these.

I did not succeed in getting the minnie mouse to match the micket mouse. But I managed to get 2 piglets and 1 winnie pooh last night. So I have 2 complete sets of winnie pooh. As for the deer and squirrel, I got 4 deers and 1 squirrel. So only 1 set of deer and squirrel. Don't you think these 2 sets are cute?

Met Meizhen on MSN and she commented that I have not blogged for quite some time. Just post up some pics on the pooh play room. Decided to come over to update here as well. hehe... I had changed job, office near Tanjong Pagar. Last week, decided to drop by the shop to make appt with Winnie for the photo shoot. Will be end of Oct but have to go for the trying of gown next month. Oh no... I have not managed to lose much weight yet. Unlike Meizhen, she really lost a lot of weight and prettier now liao. Anyway, luckily I went last week. The photographer is so popular that she had been almost fully booked for October. Only left 3 dates for us to choose.

Today, we went to place the deposit for our wedding dinner at Merchant Court. Finally, its done after all the searches, walks and "quarrels". haha.. Apart from the good comments from friends, its also the venue, the friendly sales staff, central location and etc. that attracts us there. But price slightly more expensive than the two other choices that we had initially. Anyway, we can take a breather now since the hotel and wedding package had been chosen. We just need to concentrate on losing weight for the photo taking.

My good pals came over for makan session. Food posted up at Pooh Play Room (http://poohplayroom.blogspot.com) They also brought me a very nice gift which I never seen before. We like it very much. There are different music to turn to. The small different figurines will also move slightly. Such as the pooh will heat the drum with the drum sticks, the tigger will move its hand slightly to play the piano and etc.... So cute.. Oops.. Am I too childish here? heehee..

Yes, its 26th May. Time really flies. We have been together for 5 years liao. Exactly 1 year ago, I accepted his wedding proposal.

We just had a simple dinner. Went bowling together. It is the 1st time we bowl together. The last time when I bowled was so long liao. Think that was during my sec school days. Often went bowling with classmates @ Hougang. haha...

My dearest niece, Jenna's 1 year old birthday.

Conincidentally, its also Vesak Day. 2 of us do not have to go to work. We stayed at home till 3 plus and went to pick up the cake on behalf of my brother. The celebration was at downtown east. By the time we reached back home, it was around midnight liao.

Birthday 16/05/06

Started my birthday with a birthday song from Vernon in the morning. A suprise ang pow from my mum in the morning when dad came to send me to work. While on my way to work, ex boss (EK & JY) called me and give me the b'day greetings. They never rem my b'day when I was with them during my last 5 years there. Only rem my b'day when I left. haha.. Of course, not forgetting sweet SMS from frens as well. keke... :) Colleagues in my dept (who I know for only 1 mth plus) also did not forget my birthday. Auditor was surprised with my make up for the day and only found out about my b'day during lunch time. Around 11 am, I rec'd a call from the phone outside and said there is something for me. :D A bouquet of flowers with half dozen of pink tulips & half dozen of white roses for me. So Sweet of him. ... thanks dear.

Sale and Sale 17/05/06 & 18/05/06

17/05 & 18/05 Robinson is having sale for its members. Few colleagues went for the sale during lunch time. I tried my best to resist the temptation by going lunch with another grp of colleagues. After we were back from lunch, they told us how good the sale is. Hands a bit itchy liao. Moreover, SMU give us Robinsons vouchers for birthday. I also have some Robinsons vouchers which I got free when I bought the fridge the other time. So I thought no harm going there mah. Bought 2 pairs of shoes for myself, 1 winnie pooh for Jenna & 1 sunblock. When I was queueing, I overheard that if I want to get the 20% members sale, I not elgible to use the vouchers so I did not use vouchers. The next morning, my colleagues told me that I can use the vouchers during sale. The vouchers could be different. So went during lunch time again to buy 2 pants and 2 blouses. hehe... There goes my vouchers. After back to office, then I got to know that Isetan also have sale. Vernon also has 1 Isetan voucher which expires on 18 May. The sale is only meant for those with Isetan card and their guests. hahaha...We are lucky once again, a colleague from another dept has another 2 more coupons for entry to the sale. When we reached Isetan Scotts, the crowd is really scary. I decided not to get any clothes as I do not wish to spend time queueing for the fitting room. Vernon has another appt with his colleagues at 7.30pm. After he chose 1 polo tee and 1 shirt, we head for the kitchen dept. We bought some Pyrex glass bowls. I think its about 30 % off lei. after making payments, I told Vernon to go off 1st. I continue to shop around at the kitchen dept. I think he will regret letting me staying behind. I bought 1 40cm wok, 1 3-tiers steamer set, 1 digital kitchen scale. haha.....

A BIG thank you to Liyu who managed to get one villa for us to have our annual volunteer retreat at Bintan this year. This round, there are so many of us with a good mixture of new and old volunteers. I am sure we all enjoyed ourselves this year. A bit sad that Sam, RM, SY & Carol who cant join us yesterday. Together with Catherine, 3 of us only managed to join the rest @ Bintan on Friday morning. When we reached there, we met a little hiccups.

The person at the terminal refused to let us to board the bus as they cannot find our names on the list. They called up the resort and confirm. To our shock, they said that our group had already exeeded the maximum number of people who can stay at the villa. They wanted us to pay 3 extra beds @ SGD60.00 each. They even wanted us to hand over our return ferry tickets to them. They claimed that they can only return the return ferry tickets to us only when we made the payments at the resort counter. We being very firm and refused to hand over our ferry tickets to them. In the end, they agreed to let us to board the bus and settle the matter at the counter. I guessed they do not wish to keep the rest of the guests waiting on the bus for too long.

When we reached the counters, the staff at the counter was also very firm with her stand. In the end, we agreed to pay her SGD15.00 for the 10 minutes bus journey from the ferry terminal to the resort and we go to another resort to book a hotel room.

Anyway, enough of the loh soh story again..

We are finally connected to the internet world from this "Pooh Land". Phew... Indeed, a long wait since end March. WHY... so long?

When we bought this PC, it comes with a free cable modem and 2 months worth of internet subscription from Starhub. When we went to claim the cable modem, it was out of stock and we have to wait for about a month. After the long wait, we collected the cable modem. BUT I failed to get the connections. After calling up Starhub, they said they have not switched on the starhub cable or connections for us at our unit since its a new one. It was on 10.05.06. They came down and switched on for us F.O.C. Then I can get the Starhub frequency on the TV set. HOWEVER, we still cannot be online. Starhub explained to us that it could be due to our electrical contractors. They have not installed the cable point properly for us. We have to make another appointment on last friday to come down to redo the connections for us. BUT we went to Bintan last friday morning. It was my nice sis in law who came down specially to my house to open the door for the contractors to come in. We just came back from Bintan today. So HERE WE ARE.... yaya... I know. Photos, right? Ok, I will upload some later......

Early in the morning around 6 plus, received a call from brother that dad faced some problem on the way back to Batu Pahat. Dad, mum, 2 uncle and aunt went bk to M'sia for Qing Ming. they started off from SG around 4am. It was raining heavily over there and the wiper was spoilt. They were on the expressway and cant stop. Haiz.. Already asked not to borrow car and drive back. But they do not wish to travel back by public transport. By the time I called back around 7 plus, they were already out of expressway and found a place to stop over. RELIEF!!!

While on our way to badminton session, Andy from Newstead called up & said he was on his way to our place to do the delivery. Told him that I already confirmed with Matt on friday to deliver the PC between 6 to 9pm. But he wanted to do it between 12-1. However, we already agreed Terence that we are going for badminton. Moreover, we already left the house. It only took us less than 30 mins by bus to reach Clementi fm our house. So we have no choice but to tell Andy to come back in the evening. Feel so bad to make him make another trip.

We waited for bus 154 at Clementi more than 20 mins and the bus still had not arrived. In the end, we took a cab back. Lucky, we took a cab as Andy called up & said he's on his way when we were in the cab only. Stupid cab driver. Took a longer route to PIE and it took us 25 mins to reach home by cab when we only took 30 mins to reach clementi by bus. Sound so silly, right? I was so peh chey but too tired to tell the driver off. Haiz.. Just not our day lor.

Yeah, FINALLY. Our PC is finally here. Andy worked fast. He got everything settled in less than 20 mins. GOOD! After the setting up the CPU, monitor and printer, the table is almost full. Table small lei. Haiz... What can we do? We only have a small house.

PC here but cant use. NO Internet Access. Have not gone & apply for the broadband yet. They are giving away a cable modem and 2 mths subscription for starhub cable. Will have to check out the details prob tmr or wed. Aiyah, dunno whether they will come out with a new promotion in April or not. I already have a digital camera, dun see the need for another 1. See whether they can come up a better freebie next mth or not. Keeping my fingers crossed. Moreover, we do not have a phone line at home. If not, I can use the 56k dial up Singnet home account for this PC for the time being. Like what Lionel said, no internet is as good as no PC. haha...

Computer Table Purchase 2

Yeah.... We bought the computer desk at V Hive. They are also having a SALE till 31st March. hehe... This is the design. A very simple one in wenge colour. We bought this for $158.00. Measurements :120 x 74 x 75cm. Not too big or too small. This is a choice that both of us have to give up our 1st choice. We settle one that is in between. I wanted a small computer shelf cum desk but H prefers a big table instead of computer shelf cum desk. Anyway, this one fits nicely into our preferences. The best thing about this table is that this is the cheapest among our choices. Hahaha.....

BUT the earliest delivery date is Thursday. Schedule for Wed is all full. No one is around on Thursday, we have to settle for Friday instead.

We decided to put the CPU on the table instead of getting a CPU holder. We afraid that the CPU holder may scratch our parquet floor. We found one big scratch in the study room and its so painful to see the scratch. Must be my fault. So many cartons of bears and books in the room. Sob Sob...

My 1st choice. I prefer this one which looks more organised. This one is $199.

H's 1st choice. The one that H prefers looks something like this but its a left arch desk. The table excludes the mobile pedestal drawers. This table is going for $268. But the length is slightly longer. 150 x 100 x 75cm. Our small room does not allow us to put such a big table there lei. If not, then I have no space left to build the special bookshelf cum display shelf for my soft toys collection. Sob Sob... Why "they" build the flats so small nowadays. Old flats are better and bigger. SG land really not enough?

We were lucky to find one that both of us still like in the end. Left the store HAPPILY.

Purchase of the Computer

We went to the IT show on 12/03/2006 to buy a desktop.

Before we went down, we heard from many friends that the place is very crowded in the past. It will be very hard to walk through the place. While on our bus journey to City Hall MRT station, we can see that there is a slight traffic jam along Bras Basah Road from Suntec. There were too many people waiting for the shuttle bus at City Hall Station so we thought take the bus to Millenia Walk will be a better choice. However, we were wrong. We were stuck in the traffic from Suntec all the way to Millenia Walk. So sianz. Walk from Millenia Walk to Suntec is a breeze. Not as scary as the walk from Citylink Mall to Suntec. We can see the heavy crowd at the overheard bridge. Whew... Lucky, we never walk there. Ok, enough of my loh soh complain about the crowd.

My cousin bought a new PC from Dell at the IT show around $1400++ He strongly recommends me to buy that PC. However, we prefer HP and Compaq. In the end, we bought HP pavilion at the IT Show promotion for $1999 with free printer and free upgrade to 19" LCD. Price a bit steep for 1 desktop but we still like HP in comparison to Compaq. Pay another $200++ more for the 2 years extended warranty, 1 GB ram and original Microsoft Office Prog (student edition with only MS Outlooks, Words, Excel and Powerpoint). Still got 1 Creative MP3 player FOC when we pay by UOB card.

Supposed to be delivered this evening. I have no choice but to postpone the date of delivery coz there will be no place to put the PC if they deliver today. :(

Ok. I shall stop here. Got to go and meet Mr Koh to see the table liao.

Ikea is having a sale till 26 March. Went down to the sale yesterday with the intentions of getting a new PC table. Oh my goodness, the things seemed to be free. hehe.. Its so crowded. The queues at the counters even worse. Did not manage to find a suitable computer table. Since we dun want to get the table, we decided not to buy the rest of the stuff there coz the queue is too long. Have to put back the things and walk back to the entrance as we cant get ourselves thru the exit. NO WAY! Sianz... Too crowded. My hubby saw Michelle Chia @ the queue. He's so exicted to see actress. Haha...

Haha.. You must be thinking why we shopped at last minute again. PC supposed to be delivered today evening and we only managed to find time to look for a table yesterday. Only one word: BUSY! haha...

We will go down to V Hive to take a look at their computer tables tonight. Wish us good luck in finding the a suitable one.

That was a rainy day. We woke up early so as to reach the new house early as V Hive changed the appt to between 10-12 instead of afternoon. Was raining so heavy on that day but still carried the barang barang to new house. Reached the house around 10.30. Started with the cleaning of kitchen cabinets and mopping of the floor. After that, found myself so silly to mop the floor as V Hive will install the dining table, shoes cabinet & TV cabinet in my living room and dirty up the house. haha...

Anyway, they reached around 11.30 and finished the installation by 1.00pm.

Carrefour reached our place with our TV set, ladder, standing fan and those misc items that we bought. hehe.. We started to install the TV and we can enjoy the TV show while waiting for the things for Shopper Parade to send the DVD player, the rice cooker, rubbish bin and the pots. Yeah... Its already 5pm. We are so shag by then liao. How we wish there is a bed for us to sleep on such a cooling day. haiz........

Its the new day of 2006. The day started with a heavy rain in the morning. Finally, stopped in the mid-afternoon. Yes, this is the day of shifting. Finally, shifted some items to the new house. He brought over the vacuum cleaner that we got for only $1, some new kitchen utencils given by MIL from his house. I shifted over a big luggage filled with my ROM gifts, candles leftover from the ROM, a big vase, anew office chair given by my auntie, a stool and some daily necessities. We stayed at the new house until about 5 plus. Then went for lunch. haha.. Did I mention about lunch at 5pm? Yes, were too busy to have lunch. Aiyoyo.. rain started again and it was a heavy one.

hehe... Did some shopping for the house again on last Sunday. We went to V Hive to get our purchases but it was the 3rd outlet where we fianlly for what we wanted. We went to the branch @ Toa Payoh coz it was having clearance sale. Thought we can get good bargains out of it. Did not manage to find our the dining table, TV cabinet and shoes cabinet we wanted there. :( Then we went to the one at Funan. The brochure states that the one at Funan is the main branch. Thought we can more varieties there. Sob. sob.. Can only find a lot of varieties for office cabinets and office tables. Aiyoyo... Heavy rain on that day also. Still have to walk here and there. In the end, we still went to the one at Suntec City. The branch at suntec is so big but only with 2 sales staff. They were all so busy at the counter, no time to serve us. Finally, we managed to get attention from one of the sales staff. Got the dining table with tempered glass for $369, 6 dining chairs for $85 each, TV cabinet for $338, shoes cabinet $199 and 6 stools for $7.90 each.

Our fridge was finally delivered on 27th Tues. I made appt between 6pm to 7pm. But they have arrived earlier than 6pm. Good delivery service by the agent Mitsubishi. However, I was caught in a jam due to the rain that day. So I was home later 6pm. Lucky, my house delivery is the last order of the day.

I ordered my Mitusbishi Fridge from Gain City. Ordered Gold colour to match my kitchen concepts. But they delivered Silver colour. They said that they received the order from Gain City Colour. Without further delay, I called up Gain City and enquired. They claimed that the sales exec who served me ordered the wrong colour and had already resigned from the co. Without hubby around, I also not sure to accept this colour or not. I find that the silver one very nice too. The delivery personnel also unsure whether there is stock or not and when can they deliver the gold colour again. Its also very troublesome for them to carry the wrong colour fridge back to warehouse and arranged another timing to deliver the correct one again. The fridge is not light leh.

Anyway, Gain City finally agreed to compensate me by giving me a discount. hehe... Not bad leh. Got a nicer colour & still got discount.Good deal!!!

Just made the final payment to Marcus. Went up to the house this morning and ensure that the tap is no longer leaking. We officially took over the house today by changing the lock this morning. Yeah... Our house reno is finally completed. Making the final payment to Marcus also means the start of our loan repayment. Sob.. Sob.. sweat.... There goes our savings. Less shopping for clothes & shoes. sob.. Less karaoke sessions. Haiz..

We can finally shift some of our items over to the new house tomorrow. The TV set, the ladder and the misc items that we bought at Carrefour will be delivered on 08/01/06.

Actually, we thought we can get a X'mas tree and spend our 1st X'mas at the new house. But there was nothing yet.

Spend our X'mas eve doing the cleaning of the house. Hubby was a bit unwilling to do so initially as he thinks we should not spend out X'mas eve doing cleaning. haha.. Anyway, we went. By the time we finished, it was already afternoon. But we were shocked to find out that the tap in our common bathroom is leaking.

As usual, I will head for Silra Home. One group from a church came to celebrate the X'mas eve afternoon with the elderly and sponsored their dinner. So we stayed in the activity room to do the discussion & decor using Ang Pow for the upcoming Chinese NEw Year celebrations @ Silra Home.

Spent out X'mas eve doing some last minute shopping for X'mas gifts from bro, Sil and niece. Then stayed at Orchard road for the countdown. Usually, we will stay around Paragon or Taka area to mix with the crowd. This year, we want to avoid the spraying of the white foam. So we went further up to CK Tang area to watch the crowd. hehe...

Went up to the house with a plier to turn off the main water supply. By then, our big pail is filled up with the water liao. We wanted to do some shopping for the home appliances. Heard from frens that there's this BIG store @ Harboufront selling home & electrical appliances at cheap rates. They really have a big range of kitchen appliances there. They are having a sale there on many items. Bought a steam iron for my parents house. Went down to Orchard Rd to see got any more sale or not. Orchard road was closed for a Xmas celebration. There were also performances from different countries. Wanted to check out the kitchen appliances & equipments @ CK Tangs but was closed then.

Went down to Courts to check out their sale. Nothing attractive. Headed for CK Tangs for their post Xmas sale. There's this lady who was selling the non-stick wok. Buy 1 free 1. Sounds attractive. hor? 1 set for S$121.00. When we went 2 weeks ago, she was selling them for S$151.00. We almost wanted to buy the woks and pans. Sounds so good. Can bake cake and fry pop corns with it. haha.. But I told hubby no point getting it as we already have an oven to bake cake. Moreover, got a free wok from Mayer and a frying pan from MIL.

Took a bus down to Carrefour @ Plaza Singapura. We know we wanted a 29" CTV so the choices were quite limited. Both of us saw the LG TV which comes with 4 years warranty that is only going for S$559.00. We went to look at standing fan as we did not install air con in the living room. Saw one that comes with remote control. Wanted to get most of the household items from Carrefour as they do free delivery. The next items on our list are some stools that we can provide for guests to sit if there are too many people. But we do not like any of the chairs there. We decided to go down to Carrefour-Suntec to buy all these items as we wanted to get TV cabinet and dining table @ V Hive-Suntec. When we reached Carrefour-Suntec, we were surprised to find that the TV set and the Fan that we saw at PS had been all sold out at Suntec. Guess what? We went back to PS to buy the TV & the fan as we do not want to miss out the good deals. Being more direct, we are kiasu. haha.... When my bro heard of what we did, he said I am "siao"

We installed the non-inverter Starmex System 3 in all the bedrooms. The air cons were installed few days ago so they came to deliver the controllers and warranty cards to us. Of couse, they were also here to collect the payments from us. heehee...

Not too bad. The air cons cooled up the rooms quite fast.

Anyway, we had made arrangements with Mayer Marketing to send over the washing machine to us. However, the tap we had in our flat was unsuitable for the washing machine. So we have to pay another $20 extra for the tap.

The delivery personnel did a simple demo to us in using the washing machine. Advised us to do an empty wash before we start to throw the laundry in. Aiyoyo... Never use front load washing machine before leh.

They also brought along the free gifts. (wok, knife set, kitchen accessories, laundry basket, softerner and washing powder.

The wardrobe

Though our master bedroom is small, we did not do any walk in wardrobe. 1st of all, we do not wish to hack down any walls and to give up a room. 2nd, we have to keep our cost down as low as we can. Just did a normal built in wardrobe with silding door. Some frens feedback that a sliding door wardrobe make not be practical & lasting compared to the traditional open door concept. But too bad our room area is too small for it. With the queen size bed facing the wardrobe, there is not much space to open the door. Anyway, we prefer the sliding door design. hehe.. Found enough excuses to cover the problem.

We went up to the house yesterday and found that our neighbour next door had just shifted on sat.

The kitchen is almost ready. Still short of the tap, the fridge and washing machine. Went up to the house during lunch time today. The plumber will install the taps, bathroom accessories and water heater today.

Think it will looks better if we have chosen pure white for the top cabinets. The colour combination in the kitchen looks bit weird to me.

Defects of my house

Today is already 3 months after the collection of my house keys. Till now, the defects still had not been solved that department. House being almost done already but defects not soled. Haiz.. Sent email , made phone calls and left messages in the mailboxes already. Today, that person in charge said he had gone up the house to check yesterday. But he is M'sia now. Will look into the defects for us NEXT WEEK!!!!

2 weeks ago, the false ceiling had been done but not the lights. When we went up last sunday, the downlights had already been installed up in the living room.

Time pass so fast. The 600x600 homogenous tiles have been layed for the living room already. Can you all see the difference? If not, think I wil faint liao. hehe.. The boxes lying in the corner are the hood, hob and oven.

Bought the hood, hob and oven from Mayer Marketing. yaya.. The washing machine also bought from Mayer. Spent almost 2 hours at Mayer (Great World). haha.. The culprit is me lah. Who else? Asked the sales person so many qns. keke... Want to make sure everything goes well mah. Anything wrong? :P No intentions to buy the washing machine initially. Think we can survive without a washing machine. But they are having year end sale now. Moreover, they are giving away vouchers. Exchanged for a wok, knife set and some kitchen accessories. Only the hood, hob and oven have arrived. Also bought extra accessories for the hood, hob and oven. One glass cover & one wok stand for the hob and an extra tray for the oven. The washing machine will be delivered at a later date. So excited about the oven. Cant wait to use to bake cookies for xmas & CNY, grilled chicken and roast chicken....

Went up to the flat and checked out the colours of the wall tiles for toilets.

After selection of floor tiles for toilets, we went for lunch at 933 Roast Duck.

Since we are at Balestier, we walked down the stretch to look at lightings. We saw one dining light which bf likes very much. Its made of Natural Stone. Cost 3 times of a normal dining taging light. ID advised us to look around 1st and dun buy 1st. He will accompany us to buy the lights. There are so many light shops there which we see until blur. haha...

After months of discussions & negotiation, we finally signed the quotation with Image C. for the reno of Love Nest.

We need to go down to the flat to check on the colour of wall tiles of bathrooms before to choose a matching floor tiles for the bathrooms. Why only bathrooms? No floor tiles for living room and bedrooms? Haha.. Of course not! We already decided on the homogeneous tiles for living room and Parquet for bedrooms.

Renovation will either starts on 20th (Thurs) or 24th (Mon). But we still have so much things undone yet.

1) Apply for electricity/water

4) Water heater, Sinks, Taps

Moreover, bf not free tmr. He has a training. haiz..
